Problem

You want to adjust the feel, control, and balance of your Logitech G502 by using the included weights, but you’re unsure how to access the compartment or configure the weight layout properly.

Solution

The G502’s weight tuning system allows you to add or remove small metal weights inside the mouse to adjust its overall weight and balance based on your personal preferences—important for comfort and precision in gaming.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Locate the Weight Compartment

  • Turn the mouse upside down
  • Look for a magnetic panel on the underside (G502 Hero) or a removable cover near the back (Lightspeed)
  • Gently lift or slide the panel off to expose the weight tray

2. Identify the Weights

  • The G502 Hero includes five 3.6g weights
  • The Lightspeed model may include six 2g weights (two shapes: round and wedge)
  • Weights may be packaged separately inside the box—look under the mouse tray or inside the accessory case

3. Insert the Weights

You can insert weights into several positions depending on the model:

  • G502 Hero:
    • 5 slots around the perimeter of the base
    • Adjust for:
      • Heavier front or rear (affects glide vs. control)
      • Left or right tilt (for hand dominance)
  • G502 Lightspeed:
    • 2 slots inside the magnetic cover
    • Up to 4 additional slots in the rear shell (under removable weight plate)

Insert weights firmly until they snap or magnetize into place.

4. Close the Compartment

  • Reattach the weight cover securely
  • Flip the mouse upright and test how it feels in your hand

Weight Configuration Tips

Setup StylePlacement
Balanced feelAdd weights symmetrically (e.g., front left + front right)
More controlAdd weight to the rear for slower, steadier motion
Faster flicksUse no weights, or only 1–2 in the center
Right-handed boostAdd weight to the right rear corner

Notes

  • G502 X models (wired/wireless) do not include a weight system — they are built for lightweight performance
  • Changing weight won’t affect DPI or performance directly but impacts your comfort and control
  • There’s no “right” setup—it’s all preference. Try several layouts during different tasks or games
