Problem
You’ve just unboxed (or reset) your MX Master 3S and want to connect it over Bluetooth to a Windows 11 PC or a Mac. The mouse isn’t yet visible in Bluetooth settings, refuses to pair, or you’re unsure which buttons put it into pairing mode.
Solution
Use the Easy-Switch button on the underside of the mouse to select a channel and enter pairing mode, then add the mouse from Bluetooth settings on Windows 11 or macOS. If you have trouble, clear old pairings on the chosen channel, move closer to the computer, and temporarily disable conflicting receivers or devices.
Step-by-step instructions
Put the MX Master 3S in pairing mode
- Turn the mouse on (power switch on the underside).
- Press the Easy-Switch button once to select an empty channel (1, 2, or 3).
- Press and hold the Easy-Switch button for 3 seconds until the LED above the number blinks rapidly—that’s pairing mode.
- Leave the mouse in pairing mode while you complete the steps on your computer.
Windows 11
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth On.
- Click Add device > Bluetooth.
- Select MX Master 3S (or similar name).
- When prompted, confirm the pairing.
- Wait for the Connected status, then test movement and clicks.
macOS (Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, or later)
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS) > Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth On.
- In the list of nearby devices, select MX Master 3S and click Connect.
- If asked to allow pairing, confirm.
- After it shows Connected, test cursor and scroll.
If it doesn’t show up
- Toggle the mouse Off/On, then re-enter pairing mode.
- Move within 30 cm / 1 ft of the computer.
- On Windows, click Add device again and wait up to 20–30 seconds.
- On macOS, click Bluetooth off/on and try again.
- Remove stale entries named MX Master 3S from your Bluetooth device list, then re-pair.
Optional methods or tools
- Logi Options+: After pairing, install to customize buttons, gestures, DPI, scroll behavior, and to receive firmware updates.
- Logi Bolt USB Receiver: If your environment is crowded with 2.4 GHz/Bluetooth devices or you experience lag, pair via a Logi Bolt receiver instead.
- USB-C charging cable: If the battery is critically low, connect the cable for a few minutes, then retry pairing.
Best practices or tips
- Use a unique Easy-Switch channel per computer so you can swap quickly without repairing.
- Avoid pairing through USB hubs with built-in radios nearby; RF interference can delay discovery.
- Keep the mouse firmware updated in Logi Options+ for improved stability.
- On laptops, disable Battery Saver or set Bluetooth power management to standard when pairing the first time.
The MX Master 3S supports multi-device workflows through its Easy-Switch channels, so pairing it via Bluetooth on Windows 11 or macOS gives you a clean, dongle-free setup. Once connected, you can switch between computers by tapping the Easy-Switch button, keeping your desk tidy and your workflow fluid. If discovery fails the first time, simple steps like moving closer, cycling Bluetooth, or removing old entries typically resolve the issue.
After pairing, install Logi Options+ to unlock app-specific shortcuts, SmartShift scrolling, and DPI adjustments that tailor the mouse to your daily apps. Keeping firmware current and managing power settings on laptops can further improve stability and responsiveness, ensuring your MX Master 3S stays connected and performs at its best.
