Problem
You’ve paired your MX Master 3S to more than one computer or tablet and want a fast, reliable way to switch control between them. You’re unsure which Easy-Switch channel each device is on, how Logitech Flow affects switching, or why the mouse sometimes doesn’t follow the screen you expect.
Solution
Use the Easy-Switch button on the underside of the MX Master 3S to swap between up to three paired devices. Assign a unique channel to each device and label them in Logi Options+ so you always know which is which. For cross-computer workflows, enable Logitech Flow to move your cursor between screens seamlessly and optionally copy files and text.
Step-by-step instructions
1) Confirm or set channel assignments
- Turn the mouse On.
- Press the Easy-Switch button briefly to cycle channels 1 → 2 → 3.
- On each device, open Logi Options+ and check which channel the MX Master 3S is paired to.
- If a device isn’t paired yet, put the mouse in pairing mode on the desired channel (press and hold Easy-Switch for 3 seconds), then add it via Bluetooth or Logi Bolt.
2) Switch devices with Easy-Switch
- To change devices, tap the Easy-Switch button once to select the next channel.
- Wait up to 1–2 seconds for the connection to become active, then test movement and clicks.
- If nothing happens, tap again to cycle channels or hold for 3 seconds to re-enter pairing mode and re-establish the link.
3) Use Logitech Flow for seamless cross-computer control (optional)
- Install Logi Options+ on all computers you want to use with Flow.
- In Options+, enable Flow and arrange monitors to match your physical layout.
- Move your cursor to the edge of one screen; the mouse will hop to the other computer and switch channels automatically.
- Enable Clipboard/Files if you want to copy text, images, or small files between machines.
4) Use with tablets and phones
- iPadOS/Android: Pair the mouse to a dedicated channel. To switch to the tablet, tap Easy-Switch to its channel. Some gestures and customizations may be limited on mobile OSs compared to desktop.
5) Label channels for clarity
- In Options+, rename the device entries (for example: “Channel 1 – Work PC,” “Channel 2 – MacBook,” “Channel 3 – iPad”) so you can glance at the app and know which channel to tap.
Optional methods or tools
- USB-A extension for Logi Bolt: Improves receiver placement and reduces interference if one of your computers uses a receiver.
- Per-app profiles in Options+: Assign different actions on each computer so your shortcuts match the apps you use there.
- Flow hotkeys: In Options+, you can set a key combo to trigger a Flow switch instead of dragging to the screen edge.
Best practices or tips
- Dedicate one channel per device and avoid reusing the same channel for two computers; re-pairing wastes time and causes confusion.
- If a device fails to take control after switching, wake the device (tap keyboard/trackpad) or toggle its Bluetooth. Laptops on aggressive power saving may delay reconnects.
- For Flow, ensure all computers are on the same network and Options+ is allowed through the firewall.
- Keep firmware and Options+ updated on every machine to maintain reliable switching and Flow performance.
- If you work in a high-interference environment, consider using Logi Bolt on your primary computer and Bluetooth on your secondary to diversify radio use.
With clear channel assignments and labels in Logi Options+, switching with the MX Master 3S becomes muscle memory—tap the Easy-Switch button and you’re working on a new device in seconds. Logitech Flow takes this further by detecting your cursor at the screen edge and switching channels automatically, which can make dual-computer setups feel like one extended desktop.
If switching feels inconsistent, start with the basics: wake the target device, check that its channel is paired and not shared, and verify that Options+ is running on both ends. Receiver placement, Wi-Fi congestion, and low battery can also impact switching responsiveness, so keep the mouse charged and the receiver close, and place laptops on the same network for smooth Flow transitions.
