Problem
You want to use your Logitech G502 mouse across multiple devices—such as a desktop and a laptop—or switch between PCs quickly, but you’re unsure of compatibility or setup requirements.
Solution
Yes, the G502 can be used on multiple computers, though how easily you can switch between them depends on whether your model is wired or wireless. Onboard memory makes it easy to carry your settings from one system to another.
For Wired Models (G502 Hero, G502 X Wired)
- Simply unplug the mouse and plug it into another computer.
- The mouse will work immediately (plug-and-play).
- Settings saved to onboard memory (like DPI, lighting, and button mappings) will carry over without needing Logitech G Hub installed on the second device.
For Wireless Models (G502 Lightspeed, G502 X Plus)
Option 1: Move the USB Receiver
- Unplug the Lightspeed receiver from PC #1
- Plug it into PC #2
- Turn on the mouse—connection is instant if it was previously paired
Option 2: Use Two Receivers (If Available)
- Pair the G502 with each receiver using Logitech G Hub > Device Settings > Add Receiver
- The mouse can only be connected to one receiver at a time, but you can switch between them by:
- Moving the receiver
- Rebooting or power cycling the mouse
There is no Bluetooth mode for the G502—Lightspeed wireless only.
Using Onboard Memory for Seamless Use
To ensure settings work without G Hub:
- Open G Hub on the original PC
- Switch to Onboard Memory Mode
- Save your preferred DPI levels, button assignments, and lighting
- Plug or pair the mouse with the second computer
- The mouse will function with those same settings, even without G Hub
Quick Switching Alternatives (Not Natively Supported)
- The G502 does not support Logitech Flow (cross-computer control)
- If you want true multi-PC switching, consider a USB switcher or Logitech MX series mouse instead
Notes
- You cannot wirelessly control two devices at once with the G502
- Frequent receiver re-pairing is not recommended for daily back-and-forth usage—consider using a USB switch for convenience
- macOS and Linux support is limited to basic functions unless settings are stored in onboard memory
