Problem
You want to optimize input performance by adjusting the polling rate of your Logitech G502 mouse—either to reduce input lag or conserve power—but you’re unsure how to access and change this setting.
Solution
The polling rate determines how often your mouse reports its position to your computer. A higher rate (e.g., 1000 Hz) results in smoother, more responsive tracking. You can adjust this setting using Logitech G Hub.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open Logitech G Hub
- Download or open from: https://www.logitechg.com/ghub
- Click on your G502 mouse from the device list
2. Go to the Settings Panel
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner of the G Hub window
- Select the Device Settings tab for your G502
3. Adjust Polling Rate
In the Report Rate or Polling Rate section, choose from the following options:
| Polling Rate | Reports per Second | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| 125 Hz | 8 ms delay | Power saving (e.g., office use) |
| 250 Hz | 4 ms delay | Low power, casual gaming |
| 500 Hz | 2 ms delay | Balanced gaming/performance |
| 1000 Hz | 1 ms delay | Max responsiveness (FPS, esports) |
- Select your preferred rate, and it will apply instantly
- Some wireless models auto-adjust based on usage and battery, but manual control is still available
4. (Optional) Save to Onboard Memory
If you want the polling rate to persist across different systems:
- Go to the Onboard Memory tab
- Set your preferred polling rate in that profile
- Click Save to Device
Notes
- Higher polling rates may slightly increase CPU usage but are negligible on modern systems
- If you’re using a wireless G502, higher polling rates may impact battery life
- Some games may have input caps—check in-game settings if polling changes don’t seem to take effect
