Problem

You’re using a wireless Logitech G502 mouse and need to know the correct way to charge it, how long it takes, and whether it can be used while charging.

Solution

The G502 wireless models use either micro-USB (Lightspeed) or USB-C (X Plus) to charge. You can charge the mouse using the included cable, a compatible third-party cable, or a PowerPlay charging mat (G502 Lightspeed only).

How to Charge via Cable

1. Plug in the Cable

  • Connect the USB-A end to your PC or a wall charger
  • Insert the micro-USB or USB-C end into the port on the front of the mouse

The G502 Lightspeed uses a notched micro-USB plug that locks in tightly—don’t force it if it feels misaligned.

2. Monitor Charging Status

  • In Logitech G Hub, the battery level will display in:
    • The mouse overview screen
    • Device Settings > Battery Status
  • Some models show a pulsing light during charging

3. Full Charging Time

  • Takes about 90 minutes for a full charge
  • A 5-minute charge can provide several hours of use (fast charge)

Can I Use the Mouse While Charging?

Yes! Both models can be used in wired mode while charging.

  • The mouse functions just like a wired model while plugged in
  • Great for continuous gaming or when the battery is nearly depleted

Optional: Use PowerPlay (G502 Lightspeed only)

If you own a Logitech PowerPlay charging mousepad:

  • The G502 Lightspeed will charge continuously while in use
  • Requires installation of a PowerCore module into the mouse base (included with the pad)

G502 X models are not compatible with PowerPlay.

Notes

  • Always use a quality USB cable to avoid connection or power issues
  • Avoid USB hubs or passive ports for charging—they may not deliver enough power
  • Charging via wall outlet may be faster than from a PC port
