Problem
You’re using or considering a wireless Logitech G502 model and want to know how long the battery lasts under normal use—and how lighting or settings affect battery life.
Solution
Battery life varies depending on your model, usage pattern, and whether RGB lighting is enabled. Logitech provides estimates, but real-world results may differ slightly.
Battery Life Estimates by Model
| Model | With Lighting On | With Lighting Off | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| G502 Lightspeed | Up to 48 hours | Up to 60 hours | Standard HERO sensor |
| G502 X Lightspeed | N/A | Up to 140 hours | No RGB lighting |
| G502 X Plus | Up to 37 hours (RGB on) | Up to 130 hours (RGB off) | RGB w/ smart effects |
How to Maximize Battery Life
- Turn off RGB lighting
- Open Logitech G Hub > LIGHTSYNC tab > Disable lighting or reduce brightness
- Enable Smart Illumination (X Plus only)
- Lights only activate during movement or active use
- Reduce polling rate
- Lower from 1000 Hz to 500 Hz if acceptable for your needs (slightly reduces responsiveness)
- Fully charge before long sessions
- A full charge ensures longer runtime and less risk of mid-game interruptions
How to Check Battery Status
In Logitech G Hub:
- Click your G502 mouse
- The battery percentage is shown at the top or in the Device Settings tab
Some models also support low battery alerts and LED indicators when reaching ~10%.
Charging Time (for G502 X Plus / Lightspeed)
- Charges via USB-C (G502 X Plus) or Micro-USB (G502 Lightspeed)
- Typical full charge time: ~90 minutes
- You can use the mouse while charging via the cable
Optional: PowerPlay Support (G502 Lightspeed)
- The original G502 Lightspeed is compatible with Logitech PowerPlay, a wireless charging mousepad
- This provides unlimited battery life by charging while in use
G502 X models are not compatible with PowerPlay.
Notes
- Battery estimates are based on continuous use—standby or idle time extends overall runtime
- Logitech G Hub can provide real-time monitoring of power usage and help identify what’s draining battery
