Problem

You want to connect your Logitech G502 Lightspeed mouse wirelessly to your PC or laptop, but aren’t sure how to set up the receiver or troubleshoot pairing issues.

Solution

The G502 Lightspeed connects wirelessly using Logitech’s Lightspeed receiver (2.4 GHz). Setup is simple and typically plug-and-play, but can be fine-tuned using Logitech G Hub if needed.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Unbox the Mouse and Locate the Receiver

  • Inside the packaging (or mouse itself), locate the USB Lightspeed receiver.
  • For some models, it’s stored in the battery/weight compartment on the bottom of the mouse.

2. Plug in the Lightspeed Receiver

  • Insert the receiver into a USB-A port on your PC or laptop.
  • For best performance, avoid USB hubs or ports on the back of a tower case.
  • Use the USB extension adapter (included) to position the receiver closer to the mouse if needed.

3. Power On the Mouse

  • Flip the switch on the underside of the mouse to ON.
  • The LED or RGB lighting should activate, indicating the mouse is powered.

4. Wait for Automatic Connection

  • The mouse should connect within a few seconds.
  • Windows will detect it as a HID-compliant mouse if drivers aren’t already installed.

If the mouse does not connect:

  • Make sure the battery is charged
  • Try another USB port
  • Restart your PC and retry

5. (Optional) Set Up Logitech G Hub

  • Download G Hub: https://www.logitechg.com/ghub
  • Install and launch it
  • The G502 should appear in the main dashboard
  • You can now configure profiles, DPI, RGB lighting, button mappings, and more

6. (Optional) Pair with Another Receiver

If using a replacement receiver or switching systems:

  • Open G Hub > Click on the gear icon > Pair a device
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to re-pair the mouse with a new receiver

Notes

  • Battery life for the G502 Lightspeed ranges from 48 to 60 hours depending on lighting settings
  • The mouse can also be used wired while charging via USB cable
  • The G502 Lightspeed is not Bluetooth-compatible—it uses Logitech’s proprietary Lightspeed technology only
